![]() ![]() Resolution Aimed at Stemming Violence and Bringing Justice ![]() I'd rather just throw down for a Mac that will withstand the test of time. No one wants to pluck down $6-$700 as you claim every other year as their Windows PC's fall a part. I don't want to go too off topic but suffice to say these days, so much pc time is spent online that you could be using any computer manufacturer/OS in the world that supports Firefox or Safari or IE and you'd have the same experience. :) And other consumers who are out there looking to buy a new computer to surf the web, play music, surf Youtube, upload pix, go to Facebook, use online chat, read email, (and a billion other online activities) are going to ask themselves "why am I spending $1200 for a Mac using Firefox when I can buy a $600 PC using the same Firefox?" And I also, as a consumer, am not going to plunk down $1200+ for a Mac when a $600-$700 PC will allow me to do 100% of the same stuff just using different name-brand-products. Their pc marketshare has been below 10% for how long? 20+ years.and still is even though they are selling like hotcakes. I like it! Much better than "Charts" or "Numbers".Īpple has been the extreme minority in selling personal computers since 1986. ![]() ![]() I run into this problem with Keynote- I can export something to Powerpoint to use as a starting point for cleanup, but it's rarely presentable straight from export. There are times though when superficial compatibility is critical- where it needs to print and format on another machine just the way you wrote it. If they can make it functionally compatible with a reasonable subset of Excel functions, then it will be enough for me to use and share files. There's two levels of compatibility though- functional and superficial. I agree with the crowd that thinks compatibility is important. I find Word too noisy- I have never used more than half the functions in Word (even after putting in a good effort to "learn to use them effectively"). Pages is my wp of choice now for just about everything. If a word processor can even be dumbed down, it's been poorly designed. :) What about Numbers? I pray they don't dumb it down like Pages, please! ![]()
